Rippling

 

With Rippling, Platek presents an innovation from the decorative lighting segment. The product family includes wall and ceiling luminaires in two sizes, a bollard luminaire and a suspended ceiling luminaire. This allows its distinctive design to be used consistently across different architectural settings.

The diffuser is made of mouth-blown glass and is available with a diameter of 90 or 120 mm and a height of 100 or 133 mm. The fully shielded light source provides a high level of visual comfort and achieves a system luminous flux of 380 lm. Colour temperatures of 2700 K and 3000 K are available, along with optional DALI-2 control. The absence of visible screws emphasises the luminaire’s clean design.

 

Platek itself describes the design concept behind Rippling in the following words:
“The light spreads like small waves on a lake. The delicately sinuous surface is a tribute to craftsmanship. The textural quality of the hand-worked Venetian glass, with the barely perceptible irregularities from the mouth-blowing process, makes each Rippling fixture unique.”
